In the first half of the 14th century, there was a community of Jewish origin that settled Morro de Miragaia, having raised even a synagogue (later demolished for construction of the Convent of the mother of God of Monchique).
So, this place came to be known as the 'Hill of the Jews'. This community, which with its commercial activity greatly contributed to the development of the parish of Miragaia until the end of the 14th century, a time that was subsequently transferred to the Jewish quarter of the olive grove and, later still, already in the 15th century, to the street of merchants.
Located between the Crystal Palace (850 meters), the Hospital de Santo António, College of Pharmacy and the Customs (about 200 MTS), with wide unobstructed views over the river and the port wine cellars (located on the South Bank), make this area one of the most desirable to invest. The typicality of Miragaia and the genuineness of its people, allow a true experience and almost parochial. This is ideal for those who want to live close to everything and cherishes the tranquility.
